An important note when it comes to installation of travertine floors is that this material requires sealing to protect against staining and moisture absorption. We recommend professional sealing at the start to ensure even coverage and consistent absorption, then resealing every 3–5 years depending on traffic and exposure. For outdoor applications, choose a honed finish rather than polished to ensure adequate slip resistance.

Important Note for Tucson Home Owners: Marble is calcium based and will etch when exposed to acidic substances like citrus, vinegar, or harsh cleaners. This makes it less ideal for kitchen floors but perfect for bathrooms where acidic spills are less common.

The combination brings the warmth of the desert inside while providing practical benefits: the textured pebble surface offers excellent grip when wet, and the earthy tones hide water spots and soap residue between cleanings. The extensive grout lines between pebbles add additional traction, making these mosaics an excellent choice for aging-in-place bathroom designs in communities like Green Valley and Saddle Brooke.
